How to Fool Voters for 2010 National Elections

One effective marketing tool is to use a manipulated survey. One theory is that “People will vote for a winning candidate in the survey”. The rationality of this “irrational thinking” is that of the “copy cat” mentality of some voters. Some voters are lazy to get involved in the creative thinking processes. Their simplicity of thought bends toward to what others wanted them to think. They fell into the surveyors “suggestions” during their hypnotic state while their eyes are still widely open.

It is a classical marketing gimmick. “Buy” the surveying company or “buy” the people floating the questionnaires and then use their “results” in your marketing propaganda.

However, when people take their revenge against this surveying companies, the marketing gimmick backfires.

Fidel Valdez Ramos was at the “kulelat” or bottom in the survey but he won in the real counting hence became the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Antonio Trillanes IV was a “loser” in the survey but a winner in the real counting of votes making him a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines after the real counting of votes.

It is easier to manipulate the result of a survey in the National level than in Local level. In the national level, only few will notice the manipulation of survey while in the local, it is easy to recheck the survey.

I made a survey at home. I and my four kids will vote for Gibo Teodoro but my wife (a.k.a richelda.com) will vote for Noynoy Aquino or Erap Estrada. Every week, I made a survey at home. The result is the same for me and my kids but my wife (a.k.a richelda.com) is flipfloping for Noynoy and Erap.

Why don’t you make your own survey. Trust yourself, not the surveying company.

Wrong Use of Words

Some member of the Philippine Media are not thinking well. For example, in reporting a car accident involving the entire family they will interview a lone survivor and start with the greetings – “Magandang Gabi”. And while the lone survivor narrates his story, the interviewer listens and say OKEY in every end of the sentence. Thus adding insult to the injury.

Nasusunog ang Palengke ng Baguio [5:00 AM, 2008 April 11]

Breaking News. 5:00 AM, 2008 April 11.

Noise broke my sleep. I thought it was a typical “frat-war”, which is common at Kayang St., Baguio. I looked at the window and saw market vendors looking towards one direction. Fire hits the old PX Market, in front of the old Tiongsan Bazaar.

I immediately took my cellphone with camera and these are my shots :
